Ann Todd
Ann Todd (24 January 1909, Hartford, Cheshire — 6 May 1993, London) was a popular English actress and producer.
She was born in Hartford, Cheshire and was educated at St Winifrid's School in Eastbourne. She became a popular actress in such films as Perfect Strangers (1945) (as a nurse) and The Seventh Veil (1947) (as a troubled concert pianist), as well as several of David Lean's films including Madeleine (1949) and The Sound Barrier (1952). Lean became her third husband. She later produced a series of travel films. Her autobiography is entitled "The Eighth Veil".
She died from a stroke aged 84.
Personal
Ann Todd was married three times. Her first husband Victor Malcolm was a grandson of Lillie Langtry, while her second and third husbands (Nigel Tangye and David Lean) were first cousins.
